Moen was found by an American inventor Alfred M. Moen in 1956. The inspiration for the single handle faucet came in 1937 after he turned on the two handle faucet and burned his hands. Over the next decade, Moen made several faucet designs and improvements but couldn’t find the manufacturer until 1947.
The first Moen’s faucet was manufactured in 1947 and were purchased for $12 each. Most Moen faucets are of the single-handle design and almost all have used the same basic water-controlling cartridge since the 1960s.

Moen Faucets also complies with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) specifications. And meets current legislation, including ab1953 (California) and s152 (Vermont). There are numerous innovations that are incorporated in the Moen faucets, and these are:
- Moen Motionsense
- Reflex System
- Spot resist finish
Imagine the convenience of having a kitchen faucet that can sense what you’re trying to accomplish and respond to what you need, the moment you need it. MotionSense does. It really responds to you. Motionsense features two different sensors installed in the faucet. One they call the Wave Sensor and the other is Ready Sensor. Pass your hand over the Wave Sensor at the top of the spout to start the flow of water. And to turn off the water simply wave again. The Ready Sensor near the base of the faucet identifies when an object, like a cup or a hand, is placed beneath the spout, running water only until you exit the sensor zone. Check the video below to know how motionsense works.
The reflex system is designed to give you an exceptional range of motion combined with great self-retracting action. Every part of a Reflex faucet works in unison as a complete system. The flexible hose moves with you to make your everyday tasks more convenient. The self retracting hose returns to its original position effortlessly and docks smoothly and securely.
3.Spot resist Finish
Spot resist finish maintains the the brilliance of your faucet so you can spend less time cleaning and more time enjoying your home. Spot resist does just what just what it says, preventing water spots and finger prints. And when it does come time to clean, easily wipe the surface clean in seconds.
The Microban finish helps prevent the damaging bacteria on your faucet surface. It inhibit the growth of stain and odor bacteria on the faucet. Microban technology works continuously, even in between cleanings, and won’t wash off or wear away with normal use, which can help keep the faucet finish cleaner for longer.
